Buying property is one of the most enjoyable ways to establish an investment portfolio. It’s not for those who want a quick increase in income though and needs a lot of patience and power to hold out for the right time, which may be tomorrow or 5 years down the line. The international property market has a lot of potential and some the newer countries and areas where property is now available are seen as extremely viable investment options.

Eastern Europe and North Africa are two areas that have a lot of potential for investment purposes. Both areas are going through a resurgence of their economies which has translated to great opportunities for property investments. Some of the key areas are Bulgarian properties, especially ski investments in Bulgaria which is an area of the market that is likely to rise faster and higher than other locations. Morocco properties are another segment that are ripe with potential and are sure to be very good investments.

Buying a property for investment requires a lot of study on the economy of the country and the region, worldwide trends that might affect an investment, such as the boom in the airline industry could lead to more consumers traveling and therefore higher interest in vacation homes. One has to be able to connect lots of seemingly unconnected factors to be able to decipher which areas will see the maximum increase in prices.

While the majority of people don’t think of most of the Midwest as traditionally picturesque or beautiful, I fell in love with the grandness of the sky of the Midwest. The big sky is quite common in most of the Midwestern states, and it’s an awe-inspiring feeling, to be dwarfed by the immensity of the world. The problem is that unless you’ve been there, you’ll never know how amazing the experience is and tourism and real estate are at the front of this new push towards the Midwestern states. Ever since movies such as A river runs through it and The Horse Whisperer have been made, bozeman montana real estate where the movies were shot have really picked up.

Other than tourism, the high quality of life is also attracting lots of people to smaller towns like Bozeman, Montana, people who want to try to lead simpler lives. It’s is really tempting actually, because you can be connected to the whole wide world via the Internet and telephone, while still being able to live in a beautiful open environment, short commutes if any and overall save money by not paying exorbitantly high rents and utility charges.

The Hindu Business Line reports that real estate developers are reportedly developing malls on the highways in record numbers, following an international trend. Somdatt Builders, division Collage India Pvt Ltd, will be developing 10 malls along highways in the next 3-5 years and Majestic Properties Pvt Ltd plans to develop 5 malls in the next 2-3 years. Due to rising prices and unavailability of land in the city limits, builders are now trying to capitalize on highway locations that have lower rates and still have the potential of attracting high number of footfalls.

Cushman & Wakefield’s study ‘Main Strees across the World 2006′ on retail rates on high street locations has brought some interesting findings. According to Sanjay Dutt, of Cushman & Wakefield, as branded companies are looking for quality space that has high conversion rates from footfalls, rates in high street locations such as Khan Market and South Extension in Delhi and Linking Road in Mumbai are increasing. Khan Market is placed at 24 on the global list and is the top location in India, compared to Mumbai’s Linking Road which stood at 41 last year. New York’s Fifth Avenue was in the top position, followed by Causeway Bay in Hong Kong and Avenue des Champs Elysees of Paris in the third position. See the full list here.
