There’s constant buzz about growth potential in China and India and according to a poll by Barclays Capital, 80% of those surveyed forecasted a minimum of 16% growth rate in assets that are run by wealth managers in China, more than what was predicted for India. China has one of the most upbeat future of Asian wealth markets according to this survey of 73 wealth managers from across the world who oversee $5 trillion.

According to Peter Hu, a top investment manager at Barclays Capital, the outlook of the wealth generation in Asia is stronger in China than in India, although most managers are still upbeat about India. The amount of alternative investments has shown an increase, probably due to the number of younger and more sophisticated investors in the area.

One usually thinks of the Japanese as rich people, but there are lots of people living below the poverty line in Japan. These are mostly part-time laborers and day laborers who have no where to live, are spending the night at 24hr McDonald’s and are being called “McRefugees”. Other alternatives are spending time in internet cafes, saunas etc.

Economist Takuro Morinaga explains the type of person likely to become a McRefugee.

“They’re people who probably have a tad more money than those living on the streets, but not enough money to allow them to change their lives. It costs about 400,000 yen to 500,000 yen to rent out an apartment, so people who can’t afford to do that become Net Cafe Refugees, Sauna Refugees and, now McRefugees,” Morinaga says. “The vast majority of them are not full time staff and are probably only making about 1 million yen a year at most. For these people, 500,000 yen is an enormous sum of money.”

Isn’t just about everyone interested in making some extra money these days? No matter where you go, everyone seems to be just taking about making money, planning investments, thinking about the future in financial terms, creating accounts for long term investments with companies such as Sogoinvest who handle your investments for you. I think with the rise of the Internet, the knowledge and the options of making money have grown and have become known and accessible worldwide, leading people to increasingly focus on it and use the Internet as a means to achieve it.

I consider the Internet as a great tool in finding information on making money, planning investments, understanding global finances and the effects of the economy. As a consumer, the Internet also provides more access to financial services than ever before, options such as Sogoinvest which I read about on the Internet which lead me to think about creating a portfolio of long term investments.

Are you still paying for your education? April 4, 2007

As a college graduate from KSU, I find that there were so many students with me then who are still struggling to pay off their Student Loans. Getting into a good college is hard enough but paying off the loans once you graduate is even harder. My student loan was completed in 10 years, but for most college graduates it lasts much longer and with the interest rates piling up, you actually end up paying so much more than just the original amount. I wonder if people really know that going for a Student Loan Consolidation is one of the best options to deal with an outstanding student loan.

With NextStudent’s simple procedures, a Student Loan Consolidation is quite an easy process and lets you combine your variable rate federal loans into one fixed rate loan at 4.5%, a much lower rate than you would usually get. There is no additional cost to consolidate your loans and the online application makes it even more accessible. Consolidating your student loans so you can pay one low rate is essential if you want to keep your credit record clean, so if you are struggling to make your Student Loan payments, I would definitely recommend consolidating your student loans.

Don’t take your health for granted March 29, 2007

Everyone knows the importance of health insurance, but how many consumers actually have quality health insurance that can be counted on in an emergency? Very few I think have an all-encompassing health insurance coverage that is needed for unexpected events and part of the problem this happens is because health insurance plans are quite complex and diverse.

One of the factors that should be kept in mind when selecting a health insurance plan is the history of the company, its financial dealings and statements, when it was founded and other general information. Then check and compare its specifics like, how much are its monthly premiums, what are the deductables or the amount that you have to pay before the coverage comes into effect, co-pay amounts that require payment each time you visit a doctor, who and what all is covered and lots of other crucial issues.

If approached in a step by step manner, finding the right company, the right kind of health insurance at an affordable price is possible. It’s just a question of doing your homework, understanding how things work in the health care industry and selecting an affordable health insurance plan that will work and take care of your family.

The golden rule October 26, 2006

Gold has always been considered a safe investment, something physical that can be counted on instead of paper money or shares. The ancient Greeks, Romans and Eqyptians all realized the value of gold and collected it with religious zeal. Gold was the way the world took notice of who you were in times past. It was the one surety of life that its value would always increase with time.

Unfortunately, in modern times, gold has not always enjoyed such cult status. In certain communities and societies, gold is still purchased as the chief investment, whether it is in the form of coins, ingots or jewelry. The problem in modern times lies in how to judge the quality of pure gold and how to store it.

The Monex Deposit Company (MDC) fills this gap and provides customers with a secure place to purchase gold and other precious metals such as platinum and silver and even has it delivered to your choice of independent bank or depository. The Monex Precious Metals has one of the largest and most dedicated staff who will provide you with the resources to make the best decision.
